Dharamsala, a beautiful hill resort in North India has become synonymous with his Holiness the Dalai Lama. Since 1959, when Dharamsala, became the Headquarters of the Tibetan Government in Exile, it has been known as "Little Lhasa". Dharamsala is a mixture of serene monks and travellers in search of spirituality, relaxation, mountaineering and the opportunity to meet the Dalai Lama.

Dharamsala, is situated in the picturesque Kangra Valley in North India. Its slopes are covered with green deodar forests. The Dhauladhar mountain range, also known as the 'White Range', provides a towering backdrop to this beautiful hill resort. The mountains here are ideal for trekking and mountaineering.

The Namgyal monastery, the picturesque Dip Tse Chokling Monastery, the Norbulinka Palace, the centre for Tibetan culture, the Tibetan Institute of performing Arts, the Institute of Tibetology and the Tibetan library at Khangchen Kyishong are all worth travelling to visit.
